The primary "CT Bill adu" is Public Act 21-29, also known as HB 6107, passed in 2021, which legalized Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) statewide in Connecticut. The law mandates that municipalities allow ADUs "as of right," meaning without needing a special permit or public hearing. However, towns had the option to opt out or enforce their own, stricter regulations.
Town regulations change slowly, but overall the vast amount of CT towns support this poplar bill. Below are the towns that support PA 21-29 in Connecticut.
